Tähtiä kuvaamassa

En ole kuvannut tähtitaivasta vuosiin. Yksi syy miksi en ole kuvannut tähtiä ja revontulia, johtuu siitä että kuvatarjontaa on niin paljon. Hyviä kuvaajia on paljon ja heillä on oikeanlaiset varusteet, kokemusta ja näkemystä sekä valmiiksi mietittyjä kuvauspaikkoja.

Minulla on kyllä hyviä muistoja niistä harvoista yökuvausreissuista joita olen tehnyt. Pimeässä kuvaaminen on melkoista kohellusta, mutta jos on lämmintä ja hiljaista, yö voi olla hieno elämys.

Tämä oheinen video on kuvattu preseidien meteoriparven huippuyönä, mutta näyttäviä tähdenlentoja näkyi aika vähän. Valitsin kuvauspaikkana sellaisen kohteen, jonka tunnen aika hyvin. Syrjäisellä ja rauhallisella alueella on mukavaa viettää aikaa.

I haven’t photographed a starry sky for years. One of the reasons I haven’t photographed the stars and northern lights is because you see so many great night sky photos on social media. There are plenty of good photographers out there with the right equipment, experience, vision and pre-planned locations.

I do have good memories of the few night photography trips I’ve taken. Shooting in the dark is quite a hassle, but if it’s warm and quiet, night can be a great experience.

This video was taken at the peak of the Preseid meteor shower, but there were quite a few spectacular shooting stars. I chose a location that I know quite well. It’s a nice place to spend time in a remote and quiet area.
